Client's Duty
Your main duty as our client is to provide us with clear instructions to enable us to represent you or advise you as efficiently as possible. It is further your main duty to ensure that you pay fees for services rendered. These corresponding duties are the cornerstone of our relationship.
Billing Rate
We offer a service and the time spent on offering quality legal service is what clients pay for. A fee note is then sent to clients for services rendered and will provide a detailed description of the services rendered and time taken. If any money or a deposit is aid in advance then the legal fees are deducted and the balance is communicated to the client.
Our fee structure can often be tailored on the needs of particular clients.
The Billing Rates & Fee Structure
Conveyancing services are billed in accordance with a standing tariff of the Law Society. We are ethically bound to bill strictly in accordance with the tariff; no less and no more. These services range from registration of transfer of immovable property, registration of securities and registration of deeds of trust.
The firm may also agree with a client on a monthly or annual retainer fee which is to be negotiated by both parties, that is the law firm and the client. In this instance once the retainer fee is paid the client has access to unlimited legal services for the duration paid for, this arrangement is usually suitable for corporations with a lot of legal work, and/or where payment of legal services using the usual rates would not make financial sense to the client.
